Ronaldinho Skill Secrets
Intro to Ronaldinho Skill Secrets
Have you ever wished that you could have the same ball technique as Ronaldinho? Well, me too :-) In this article I will show you some of the secrets behind his skills. But, just to mention, this article is doesn’t contain some hocus pocus formula for how to gain same dribbling skills as Ronaldinho. However, I can ensure you that your dribbling skills will get better if you keep in mind things mentioned it this article. So, let’s start immediately…
1. Bend Your Knees – This one is crucial whether you want to learn a particular Ronaldinho skill or if you wish to practice on your own home made moves. You should try to bend your knees at least 20 degrees in order to benefit from it. Many soccer players are not aware of this and that’s why their dribbling skills are poor. However, if you study the movement of Ronaldinho you will notice how he keeps his legs slightly bent while facing his opponents.
2. Do Not Stare at The Ball - If you study Ronaldinho’s dribbling moves you will notice that he rarely keeps his eyes on the ball. Instead, he is monitoring the leg movements of his opponent and waiting for the right moment to get around him. This is what separates amateurs from professional. Simply, while dribbling you can’t just stare at the ball. Instead, you need to also keep an eye on where your opponent is.
3. Don’t Reveal Your Moves Too Early – While studying his moves you will also notice that Ronaldinho like to perform his moves while being at least 1 meter from his opponent. If you start to perform a move 5 meters from your opponent you can be pretty sure that you will never get around him. The secret behind dribbling is to perform your moves near your opponent. Keep in mind that the closer you are the bigger chance for getting around him.
4. Not Accelerating Enough - Every time Ronaldinho performs a move he accelerates quickly in order to win some yards. You will see many soccer players get around their opponents successfully and then decrease their speed for some reason. You can’t afford these mistakes if you want to gain equal dribbling skills as Ronaldinho. Keep in mind that once you are past your opponent you need to accelerate at least 6-7 yards in order to left your opponent behind you.
As you notice there are a lot of skills you need to master before you can call yourself a dribbling master. Just keep in mind to practice a lot and you will be fine. And who knows, one day I may even watch you on TV while playing for Barcelona’s first squad. Good Luck with your soccer carrier.
