Soccer Foot Skill - Balancing a ball
A cool soccer foot skill that is easy to learn is how to balance a ball on your foot. The skill may look simple but may take time to learn. It is therefore important to have patience while practicing on it.

It took me a month to learn this one and I was rewarded with a place in Guinness Record book :-) Now beat that! :-) All right, enough about me, let’s look at how to execute this skill…

1. Start by finding a place where you can be alone without having someone disturbing you

2. Place the ball on the instep part of your kicking foot

3. Try to hold your leg stiff

4. You should have your foot relaxed

5. Place your foot in a way that your toe is pointing on your shin. By doing this you will be able to keep the ball on place. If not, the ball will just roll over you foot and fall on the ground

6. Keep your foot relaxed even when holding the ball on your foot. If you hold the ball to hard your foot may start to hurt and you will be forced to rest and start over again

Tips for practice
• You may use a wall to balance the ball, especially in the beginning while you are learning the skill.

• It is recommended to wear a pair of soccer shoes when practicing on this skill. However, you may also use sneakers or other similar shoes if you don’t participate in any regular soccer team of course.

• Don't stress and feel down just because you fail to execute the skill directly.

• Try to practice on this skill with first using your kicking and then your non-kicking foot.

• If you are new to soccer you may wish to use your hands to put the ball on right place. However, soon or later you will need to learn how to pick up the ball using your foot. I recommend you therefore to practice directly on using your foot to place the ball on right spot. Of course, this is more difficult but is great for improving your overall ball handling.

• Try to practice regularly and the results will come.
