Lotto soccer shoes made their debut among soccer footwear in the early 1980s and began to export internationally.

While Lotto shoes were primarily started as tennis shoes, the company's soccer shoes grew through the 1980s and 1990s with several sponsorship agreements with internationally renowned players and teams.

Then in 1999 the company was taken over by local business people and they renamed the shoe company to Lotto Sport Italia S.P.A.
